Vision-Mission
Inspired by the Holy Spirit that moved the Second Vatican Council and the Second Plenary Council of the Philippines, Colegio de Sta. Monica de Angat, a diocesan school, shares in the Church vision for Catholic schools.
“The Catholic school makes the Church present in the local communities through the promotion of culture and the development of the total person. In creating a special atmosphere animated by the gospel spirit of freedom and charity, it invites the student to live their lives to the fullest. As the Church’s visible hand, this Catholic school helps the youth live a new life with the accompanying grace received in baptism. It so orients the whole human culture to the message of salvation that the knowledge which the pupils acquire of the world, of life and of men is illumined by faith. Thus the Catholic school, takinf into consideration as it should, the conditions of an age of progress, prepares its pupil to contribute effectively to the welfare of the world of men and to work for the extension of the kingdom of God, so that by living an exemplary and apostolic life, they may be, as it were, a saving leaven in the community.”
(Gravissimus Educationis 8)
Imbued by this vision, Colegio de Sta. Monica de Angat was established to be an agent of transformation by:
- Providing Catholic education primarily to the children of Angat and neighboring towns for the living and experiencing of discipleship-in-community.
- Being witness of the life of Christ in us like Mary, our Mother who was always intimately united with her Son and cooperated in His Work
- inculturating Gospel values, highlighting, however, the preferential love for the poor and the simplicity of lifestyle.
The Catholic Faith is the unifying core in an interdisciplinary curriculum, integrating FAITH and SCIENCE to a LIFE centered in the LORD JESUS who is the fountain of life, serving as the supreme Value, Example and Criterion, and from whom all other values are evaluated, prioritized and lived.
