History Of CSMA

The Angatenos consider educations very important. It was the dream of many that there would be a Catholic school in Angat.

This dream was realized in 1983 through the initiative and leadership of the founding member of the first board of Trustees of Sta. Monica Catholic School, Inc:

1.      Bishop CiriloR. Almario, Jr.
2.      Rev. Fr. Macario R. Manahan
3.      Councilor Manuel C. De Guzman
4.      Mrs. Angelita A. Cruz
5.      Mr. Francisco C. Robles
Through a memorandum of agreement between the Ministry of social Services and Development and the Parents ‘ Committee, the Day Care Center Became Sta. Monica Catholic Learning Center.

The Sta. Monica Catholic Learning Center Started under the supervision of the MSSD Day Care program, with Mr. Francisco Robles as principal. The first religion teachers were the Dominican Sisters of St. Joseph while the academic teachers came from Holy Rosary Learning Center of PhilAm life homes, Quezon City. The old Parish rectory was renovated to house the learning center.

In 1985, the School was renamed Sta. Monica Catholic School and given the Permit open and conduct Grade VI. the first batch of Grade VI graduates received Their diplomas in March 1986

On March 27, 1987, the high school department was formally opened. A year later, the school’s name was change to Colegio de Sta. Monica de Angat to reflect the town’s Hispanic heritage. In the same year, the St. Joseph Building was inaugurated. The  first batch graduated in March 1990.

To maintain excellence in the education it offers to young people, the  School joined various organizations: Catholic Educators’ Association of the Philippines(CEAP), Bulacan Private Schools Association (BULPRISA) and Malolos diocesan Catholic Schools Association(MADICSA)

The School’s population and physical structure continues to grow but the real growth is in the hearts and minds of the young people, a growth in love for God, for others and for country.
